In Maharashtra , naxalites have shot dead the Panchayat Samiti Chairman and President of Taluka Congress Committee Bahddurshah Aalam at Bhamragad. The incident happened early morning on Saturday in the Naxal-affected district Gadchiroli in the Eastern Vidrabha region.Police sources said that Bahddurshah Aalam , who had worked as the Panchayat Samiti Chairman twice, had been given candidature from local Aarewada constituency by the party for the second leg of ensuing Zilla Parishad Elections. He was planning to file his nomination papers later in the day today. He reached and stopped at the tea stall for some time while four armed Naxalites trapped him and opened indiscriminate fire in which he was killed on the spot. The assailants fled from the spot immediately.
