In Bihar, five police personnel were killed in a fierce encounter between Maoists and security forces in Lakhisarai district on Sunday. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the encounter took place at a hill top near Punadih village under Kajra police station of the district. Maoists looted arms from the possession of the slain police personnel. Police suspect that some Maoists were also killed in this incident but rebels managed to escape with bodies of their colleagues. Director General of Police Neelmani said that ten police personnel including three Sub Inspectors have not returned to the base camp. Additional Security forces have been sent to Lakhisarai from Patna. A massive combing operation is on to nab the Maoists.
