The block president of Nuapada in Odisha's Nuapada district was killed by the Maoists. According to police Sunil Dewangan, the block president, had gone out with two to three persons on Saturday but did not return home. Later his body was found near Lodra Ghat under Bharuamunda panchayat along with five Maoist posters lying nearby.
