The Maoists shot dead a worker of the opposition Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) in Orissa’s Malkangiri district late on Friday. The bullet-riddled body of the BJP worker was found at Chitrakonda near a reservoir, about 700 km from Bhubaneswar.According to the police, about seven to eight armed Maoists came in a boat and opened fire at him when he was sitting on the shore. The incident took place a few hours after five Maoists surrendered at Rourkela in Sundergarh district of Orissa.
