Maoists kill abducted havaldar Lucas Tete; Bihar CM holds emergency meeting

The body of kidnapped havaldar of Bihar Military Police (BMP) Lukus Tete was recovered in forest areas of Lakhisarai district of of the State Friday morning. Confirming this, the Addition Director General of Police P. K. Thakur said that the body of the slain Tete was found under Chanan police station of the district. Earlier there was report of Killing of sub-inspector Abhay Kumar Yadav.As per latest reports, besides Sub-Inspectors Rupesh Kumar Sinha and Abhay Kumar Yadav, another jawan of Bihar Military Police Ehatsaam Khan is under the custody of Maoists. Naxals have been demanding release of their 8 comrades in exchange for the three captive securitymen.A leaflet was found along with the body of Lukus Tete in which it was written that if the demand of the maoists is not met, then three other captive security men would be killed.Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is holding an emergency meeting with top security officials at his official residence. He categorically stated that the state government is ready to talk with Maoists for safe release of the security men who have been taken hostage.The Chief Minister said those who want to come to the negotiating table are welcome. There will be no police action against them. They will be given safe passage. Mr. Nitish Kumar said that the name of naxals who is to participate in the talk should be declared by them.The agenda of talk proposed by naxals should also be decided. Chief Minister said that naxals should keep human rights in their mind and keep the hostages safely as the state government is taking all care of the Maoists who are in jails.The Bihar Chief Minister has also convened an all-party meeting in Patna tomorrow to discuss the crisis. Mr. Kumar is trying to personally contact the leaders of opposition parties to take them into confidence on the matter.Meanwhile, security forces have intensified operations to rescue the remaining three kidnapped policemen by the Maoists. Inspector General (Operations), K S Dwivedi, overseeing the anti-Naxal operations said, combined force of Cobra Battalion of CRPF, BMP, STF and SAP of Bihar police are carrying out anti-Maoists operations.Intense search operations continued in the hilly and forest areas in Dharhara, Kajra and several other places in Munger, Jamui and Lakhisarai districts.
