Maoists blow up railway track twice in Odisha’s Sudergarh district

In Odisha, Maoists blew up a railway track twice in Sudergarh district on Monday as they began a day-long strike in Jharkhand to demand release of five Maoists. According to police sources, the rebels triggered a blast, damaging a stretch of railway track between Renjeda and Roxy under Bandamunda Police station limit of Sundergarh district. Later they again blew up the same track while the repair works were taking place. However, no casualties or injuries have been reported. The goods train service which transports iron ore to the Rourkela Steel Plant, has been suspended and Bus service between Rourkela and Jharkhand also went off the roads.
