In Jharkhand, Maoists are on a rampage, blowing up railway tracks despite tight security arrangements amidst their call for 48 hour bandh in the state from today. They blew up railway track between Dania and Jageshwar Bihar Railway Station under Dhanbad Rail Division. Rail traffic on this track has stopped. Traffic on Rourkela-Ranchi also remains affected following damage of tracks in Simdega district, 20 kilometres from Bano Railway Station. Security forces have reached to the spots and efforts are on to restore the rail traffic. Two persons were also injured in a bomb blast suspected to have been triggered by Maoists at Amjore village in East Singhbhum district. Quoting police sources, our correspondent reports that the blast occurred as a person tried to pull aside a tree trunk to clear the traffic on the road in Naxal-hit Patamda police station.The maoists are demanding that the police produce their Zonal Committee leader Ashok Mahto before the court and media. The State Police spokesperson V.H. Deshmukh told our correspondent that the Ranchi police has not arrested the Maoist leader. So, question to produce him before the court does not arise.Meanwhile, campaigning for the second phase of election will come to an end tomorrow afternoon. Polling in this phase will be held in 14 constituencies of remaining 55. Leaders of different political parities are leaving no stone unturned to bow voters in favour of their parties and allies. RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav and LJP President Ram Vilas Paswan are jointly addressing metings. Congress leaders Subodh Kant Sahay ,BJP President Rajnath Singh, JMM Supremo Shibu Soren and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha leader Babu Lal Mrandi are busy in the election rallies. AIR correspondent reports that during the campaign, leaders of almost all parties are raising the issue of corruption free and stable government in the state.
