Maoists Bandh disrupts life in WB districts

In West Bengal, normal life has been affected in some pockets in West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia districts in view of the 24 hour bandh called by Maoists today. According to official sources, normal life has been disrupted at Jhargram, Lalgarh and Goaltore in West Midnapore, Khatra in Bankura and Bandowan, Baghmundi in Purulia districts.However, there is no impact of the bandh in other parts of these three districts of Junglemahal.Our Kolkata correspondent reports that the bandh call comes on the day when Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee's ultimatum to Maoists to surrender arms within seven days expires. Unprecedented security arrangements have been made in Junglemahal to avoid any untoward incident during the bandh. Joint forces are patrolling in vulnerable areas.
