In Jharkhand, maoists attacked Balumath police station under Latehar district late last night. The Maoists also attacked residence of Deputy Chief of local Panchayat and killed one villager.The police resorted to retaliatory firing. The encounter with the ultras lasted for nearly two hours and the Maoists fled. The Police launched combing operation early this morning.
