In Odisha, Maoists have abducted Malkangiri district collector R Vineel Krishna. Krishna, who was on his way back after attending a health camp in the hilly terrains of Chitrakonda, has been missing since last evening. The Maoists have sent a note through a junior engineer accompanying Krisha demanding immediate halt to Operation Green Hunt and release of jailed Maoists.Additional Director General of Police and chief of anti-Maoist operations Sanjiv Marik said that additional reinforcements of police have been sent to the area. A red alert has been sounded in the area bordering Andhra Pradesh.Maoists have kidnapped Malkangiri district collector R Vineel Krishna in Odisha. Krishna, an IIT graducate from Chennai has been abducted by the red-ultras since yesterday evening when he was coming back in a motorcycle after attending a public health camp in the cut off areas of Chitrakonda.The Maoists have demanded immediate halt of Operation Green Hunt and release of jailed Moaists in lieu of Krishna through a note. Odisha IG Police (Operation) Sanjeeb Marik while confirming the abduction said Krishna was not carrying any security with him. He said as there is no mobile tower in the particular area, police is finding it difficult to trace the IAS officer. This is the first time, Maoists have abducted a IAS officer in Odisha.
