Maoist leader Kesava Rao surrenders before police in Hyderabad

In Andhra Pradesh, a Maoist leader and Odisha State Organising Committee member Kesava Rao alias Azad has surrendered before police in Hyderabad. He was involved in several offences in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh including attacks on Police Stations and killing Policemen. He is carrying a reward of 10 lakhs rupees. The 41 year old Maoist leader had worked in Uddanam area of Srikakulam Dist of Andhra Pradesh and as deputy commander of the banned organisation at various other places. Andhra Pradesh Police said his surrender is a big blow to the CPI-Maoist.
