Maoists have given ultimatum to Bihar government till 4pm tomorrow to release eight of their comrades who had been arrested a few days ago . While talking to a cross section of media maoist spokesperson Avinashji had asked the police to vacate the Sheetal Korasi forest area in Lakhisara district immediately if they wished the Maoists to free four police personnel that had been captive during encounter on Sunday. Maoists claimed that their comrades also took possession of 33 weapons that the raiding party had with. They said that the attack was in retaliation to arrest eight of their colleagues in Jamui district a few days ago AIR Patna correspondent reports that a massive combing operation is continuing to find out missing security personnel in the forest area in Lakhisarai district of the state. A BSF helicopter was pressed into service in search operation. Inspector General of Police is personally supervising the operations. Four police personnel including two sub-inspectors were still missing after fierce gun battle between Maoists and security men on Sunday. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ordered an inquiry into the lapses into the joint operation against Maoists in forest area under Kajra police station of Lakhisarai district. Mr Kumar said every martyr's family will get 10 lakh rupees as compensation along with 13 lakh of insurance money. The families will be provided monthly salary till the time the jawans would have worked had they lived. Retirement benefits will also be given.
