In Nepal, normal life in Kathmandu and other parts of the country remained crippled today following an indefinite general strike called by the opposition Unified CPN(Maoist).They are demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and formation of a new national unity government under the Maoist leadership. Shops, business establishments, educational institutions, factories and industries remained closed. Thousands of Maoist cadres are holding demonstrations in different places and enforcing the bandh that prevented the movement of vehicles. According to police sources, over 15,000 security forces have been deployed in capital city to maintain law and order. The bandh is peaceful so far.
