In West Bengal, normal life has been affected in some pockets of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia districts, in view of 48 hours bandh called by the Maoist backed peoples committee against police atrocities. The bandh has been called demanding immediate withdrawal of joint forces from Jungle Mahal, which have been deployed to curb maoist activities. The maximum impact of bandh is being felt in maoist infested Bandwan in Purulia and Khatra in Bankura district. The bandh has remained peaceful so far
