Many districts in UP are facing flood threat

Many districts in Uttar Pradesh are facing flood threat after water levels are rising in several rivers. The water level is rising due to rain and release of water from different barrages. Bijnore, Saharanpur, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Khiri, Gonda and are facing flood threat. Heavy rain falls is recorded in several districts of western parts of state during last twenty four hours. In Saharanpur more than a dozen villages in chamrawala area are facing flood threat due to sudden rise of water in local kho river. Release of more than two lakh cusec water from Bhimgoda barrage in Haridwar raised water level of rivers mainly in western UP. About one lakh cusec water has also released from banbasa barrage. According to Central water commission Sharda river has crossed danger mark in Lakhimpur Khiri, and rising in Sitapur district also. Ghagra River is also rising in many places. According to central water commission ghagra is also rising at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki, Turtipar in Ballia and in Ayodhya. Ganga River is also rising in Ghazipur, Ballia Bahraich districts.Most of western UP districts has recorded rainfall during last twenty four hours. Meerut recorded 43 millimeter rain, while Moradabad 71 mm, Bareilly 26 mm rain fall during last twenty four hours. According to Met department rain and thunder shower may occurred at many places in Western UP and few places in eastern UP.
