Former Commonwealth Games gold-medallist Manoj Kumar, in 64kg category and Sumit Sangwan, 81kg category advanced to the quarterfinals of the International Boxing Association's World Qualifying Tournament, at Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday. They now stand just one win away from making the cut for Rio Olympics.While Manoj got the better of Bulgaria's Ismetov Ayrin Smetov 2-1, Sumit stormed past Sandagsuren Erdenebayar of Mongolia 3-0. Both of them will have to win their quarterfinal bouts on Thursday to be assured of an Olympic berth.Manoj, the former Asian bronze-medallist will now face Tajikistan's Rakhimov Shavkatdzhon. Sumit will next be up against Russia's Petr Khamukov.
