In Goa, Manohar Parrikar would be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of the state on Fridayevening. He would be heading the Bharatiya Janata Party and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party combine. Parrikar will also take the support of two independent candidates. The strength of the combine has already reached to twenty six in the forty-member assembly. After submitting his claim to form Government to the Governor, he told reporters in Panaji, that the Composition of the cabinet and number of ministers being sworn- in would be announced later.Earlier this afternoon, Parrikar was elected as leader of the party in the State Legislature unanimously in the Legislative Board meeting held in Panaji. Senior leaders Mr. Venkaiah Naidu and Mr. Ravishankar Prasad were present as the Central Observers on the occasion. BJP leader Mr. Manohar Parrikar was also chosen to lead the BJP-MGP combine in a separate meeting of the combine representatives later.
