Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has asked Indian coast Guard to further bolster Coastal Security mechanism by increasing patrolling to avoid infiltration by anti-national elements through Sea.<br/><br/>Inaugurating the Coast Guard Commanders Conference in New Delhi today, Mr Parrikar appreciated its efforts in augmenting Maritime and Coastal security. He also congratulated the Indian coast Guard on their protracted efforts with Pakistan and Sri Lankan security agencies which resulted in reduced apprehension of Indian fishing boats. <br/><br/>The Minister said, no Indian fishermen is under detention at Sri Lanka and asked the Coast guard to negotiate release of detained Indian fishing boats.<br/><br/>The Defence Minister assured all assistance for cases relating to the operational efficiency and those pertaining to the growth of the service, be it the manpower or new acquisitions.
