Manmohan discusses TN fisherman issue with Rajapaksa

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Thursday met on the sidelines of the SAARC summit in Maldives and discussed wide-ranging subjects.

The issue of Indian fishermen crossing over to Sri Lankan waters and rehabilitation of the war displaced Tamil civilians were figured prominently in the meeting.

Talking to AIR, Sri Lankan President told that the both sides re-visited issues that were discussed in New York during their meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meeting.

Briefing the media last evening, Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai said, Sri Lankan President Rajapaksa assured that the remaining 7000 civilians still in the relief camps will be settled by the end of this year.
