In Manipur, Zila Parishad Member of Pallel constituency Mohammad Shahbuddin was shot dead last night by unknown miscreants near his house at Sora in Thoubal District. AIR correspondent reports, the Police have registered a case on the incident at Kakching Police Station and investigations are on. The Imphal-Moreh Road of National Highway-39 has been blocked since this morning following the killing of the Zilla Parishad Member . AIR correspondent reports a person allegedly involved in the crime has been killed by an irate mob at Sora Bazar in Thoubal District this morning. The alleged person’s house has also been set ablaze by the mob. Meanwhile, in another incident, the Manipur Peoples’ Party (MPP) has condemned the firing at the residence of its Party President Dr.Nimaichand Luwang at Yairipok in Thoubal District. Speaking to media persons last evening at MPP office in Imphal, Dr.Luwang said, the state government is not providing him adequate security protection in spite of his repeated request to give the same as he is under threat from unknown miscreants.
