Manipur Violence: Union Minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh calls upon violent groups to stop violence immediately and find amicable solution

Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, who is in Kerala as part of BJP's Jansampark programme on Friday cut short his visit and decided to return to Manipur, following reports of attack on his house in Imphal on Thursday night.<br />'' <br />''Speaking to media persons at Angamaly near Kochi, Dr. Singh appealed for cessation of violence in the larger interests of the nation. He called upon violent groups to stop violence immediately and find an amicable solution.<br />'' <br />''He said the violence erupted due to some misunderstanding between the communities and there were no religious or communal overtones. <br />'' <br />''The Minister said Art of Living Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will be visiting Manipur soon as part of the efforts to bring back communal harmony and restore peace.<br />'' <br />''Noting that places of worship of different communities were attacked, he said more than 70,000 people were displaced after the violence erupted.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Minister observed that the Union government is acting promptly, has constituted a peace committee and provided a special package for the restoration of places of worship.</span><br />
