In Manipur, over 80 percent polling was recorded in the Assembly elections held yesterday. Seven persons, including four polling personnel were killed in militant attacks on a polling station. Chandel reserved constituency in the hills recroded over 95 percent polling. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, the Deputy Election Commissioner Alok Shukla said the polling passed off peacefully in other places except for a shoot out in one of the polling stations and damaging of the electronic voting machines at six other places.He said 197 insurgents, who have been lodged in camps under the 'Suspension of Operations' agreement, were also allowed to vote this time.
