Congress members of the new Manipur Assembly have left the choice of selecting Chief Minister to party chief Sonia Gandhi though star campaigner and state Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh cannot be ruled out for the slot again.

AICC observers Luizinho Faleiro and Hemant Biswa Sarma had consultations with the state unit leaders and the newly elected legislator today. The observers have left Imphal for New Delhi to appraise the Party High Command about the formation of the new government.

AIR correspondent says, the new government of the Congress is likely to be formed only after the five day long Holi festival.
