In Manipur, 4 powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were recovered by the police from an over ground worker of the banned People’s Liberation Army – PLA. The explosives weighed around four to five Kg.Imphal East District Additional Superintendent of Police, Dr. AK Jhaljit told AIR Imphal correspondent that the powerful bombs were brought to Imphal from Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh of Manipur to plant at critical points of Imphal city to disrupt the Republic Day celebration and the poll process. But, it could not be carried out because of tight security.
