Manipur Police rescued a student from kidnappers and arrested the eight suspected kidnappers along with sophisticated arms and ammunition. Speaking to media persons on Saturday evening at Imphal, the Superintendent of Police of Imphal West district said that the parent of the student approached the District Police at midnight after the kidnappers demanded 15 lakh rupees to release their son. The Police intensified the search and rescue operation and found the victim along with eight suspected kidnappers in Yumnam Huidrom village early this morning.<br />''  <br />'' He said that the Police also recovered sophisticated arms and ammunition including an AK 46 rifle from the suspected kidnappers. The arrested persons informed the Police that they work for an insurgent group based in Manipur. The Police has registered a case and investigation has been initiated.
