<span style="color: #222222;">Manipur joined the nationwide campaign on National Immunization Day/Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme 2024 by launching the programme on Sunday (3rd March 2024) at Imphal.<br />''<br />''The State Health Minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan attended the launching programme held at State Family Welfare Training Centre Campus in Imphal.<br />''<br />''Three thousand five hundred sixty four polio booths have been opened in all sixteen districts of the State to give polio doses to up to five year old children. Moreover, health care staff along with ASHA and Aganwadi workers will conduct door to door campaign. The State government has targeted to give polio doses to three lakh fifty three thousand seven hundred seventy four children as part of the campaign. To achieve the target, seven hundred twelve supervisors and fourteen thousand two hundred fifty six vaccinators have been engaged.<br />''<br />''&nbsp;India has been certified as a Polio-free country by World Health Organisation in 2014. However, the Government remains vigilant and continues with large scale immunization efforts considering the prevalence of polio in neighbouring countries.</span><br />
