Manipur landslide: Death toll rises to 56, search operation to conclude till tomorrow

<span style="color: #222222;">In Manipur, a review meeting chaired by State Relief and Disaster Management Minister Awangbow Newmai has decided to continue the search operation ongoing at the landslide area in Noney district of Manipur till tomorrow evening.<br />''<br />''The landslide happened on the intervening night of 29th and 30th of last month and the search operation has been going on for the last twenty days. So far 56 bodies of the victims have been recovered while five are still missing. Eighteen persons were rescued alive from the debris and hospitalized so far.<br />''<br />''The review meeting was held at Noney DC Office today and discussed the status of the search operation works. Speaking to media persons, minister Awangbow Newmai said that the meeting decided to call off the search operation officially by tomorrow evening.<br />''<br />'' However, the final decision will be taken after consultation with Chief Minister N. Biren Singh tomorrow.</span><br />
