<span style="color: #222222;">In Manipur, the State Government has taken precautionary measures given the spreading of a new variant of JN.1 of COVID-19 in some States of the country.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking to AIR News, the Director of Manipur Health Services Dr. Sashikumar said that a team consisting of doctors, nurses and technicians has been deputed to Imphal International Airport to check the incoming passengers to the State. They are advised to closely monitor those passengers coming from the red zone States. Moreover, the COVID-19 testing centres in the State have been activated.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that the concerned district Chief Medical Officers have been instructed to remain alert given the new variant of COVID-19. The Department has decided to resume 24×7 COVID-19 helplines also. The Director has also informed that the State has detected one COVID-19 patient on December 4 in the current year and it was not a JN.1 variant.</span><br />
