In Manipur, all arrangements are being made for tomorrow’s polling for the 60-member state assembly elections in free and fair manner. 279 candidates including 14 women candidates are in the fray.AIR Imphal correspondent reports that mobile phone handsets with inbuilt camera have been distributed to the concerned polling officials of all 2537 polling stations. Mobile cameras will not only take photographs of the voters inside the polling booths but also give immediate feedback to the Election Commission about the poll percentage and immediate untoward incidences if any.The Election Commission is also arranging for web cast monitoring of voting process in as many as 60 selected polling stations of 34 Assembly Constituencies. It will also be available for public viewing through the website – www.manipurelection.hadrontechs.com.Besides state police, 350 companies of central paramilitary forces are being deployed in this election. This is the first ever deployment of largest number of security forces in the state assembly elections.
