Manipur condoles demise of former President Pranab Mukherjee

<span style="color: #222222;">Manipur Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has expressed condolences on the demise of former President of India Pranab Mukherjee. In a tweet, the Governor said that she is saddened by the passing away of Bharat Ratna awardee & former President of India. "We have lost a great son of India, a veteran statesman. He had a great memory & tremendous knowledge of India's history, public policy & many other subjects. My deepest condolences", tweeted the Governor.<br />'' <br />'' Paying his condolences, Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh said that he is deeply aggrieved on learning the sad demise of former President of India. In a condolence message, the CM said that Pranab ji was a statesman and a seasoned parliamentarian and the country has lost a precious son of the soil with his demise. "His absence will leave a huge void which will be hard to fill up. His contribution to the political and economic sphere of the country will be fondly remembered by the people of the country", said the CM.<br />'' <br />'' Many political leaders of the state have also expressed anguished and condolences on the demise of the former President of India.<br />'' <br />'' As a mark of respect to the departed leader, the state government has announced seven days of state mourning from August 31 to September 6.</span><br />
