Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh on Wednesday tabled an official statement to the state assembly on the assassination of one youth at Ghari near Imphal Airport on Sunday last. The statement said, Nongthombam Ajay Meitei son of state Irrigation and Flood Control Minister N. Biren Singh has admitted to committing the crime with one M-20 pistol. It said, the gun involved in the crime is licensed in Ajay’s name. He along with other four accused in the crime have surrendered to police. Police had already seized the gun and the Bolero jeep involved in the crime. The vehicle is found to be registered in the name of Minister Biren Singh. Police investigation is going on into the case.
