<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">In Manipur, the Curtain Raiser of the Commissioning of the INS Imphal was held at Kangla of Imphal today. INS Imphal is the third ship of the Visakhapatnam-class stealth-guided missile destroyer of the Indian Navy.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The ship was named in recognition of the India soldiers who fought in the Battle of Imphal during World War II. It is the first India Navy ship named after the capital city of Manipur and first one to be named after any city of North East India.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh attended the Curtain Riser. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister announced construction of one library each for all recognized communities of the State soon as a Christmas and New Year gift to the people of Manipur. He also said that the Hills Chiefs Guest House constructed in Imphal will be inaugurated soon before the New Year.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">Mr Biren said that the people of Manipur should feel proud of the naming of the Warship INS Imphal. Despite being one of the smallest states in India, Manipur has earned its own place in the world, he added. The Chief Minister also said that the naming of the Warship INS Imphal is a recognition and show of respect to Manipur's rich history and past glory and people of the State should also reciprocate and appreciate the Prime Minister and Central Leaders.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The ceremony was also attended by Ministers, MLAs, Security Advisor Kuldip Singh, Chief Secretary Dr. Vineet Joship, DGP Rajiv Singh, civil and police officials, and others.</p>
