Manipur Chief Minister Warns Against Illegal Firearms Amidst Public Gathering

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has warned individuals or groups against brandishing illegal firearms and roaming on the streets. He said that no one, other than State machinery, can take the law into their hands and if any individual or group are found with illegal firearms,  stringent action will be taken against them as per the law.<br />''<br />''Addressing a public gathering on Development held in Thoubal district today, the Chief Minister said that the Government will not remain silent spectators against individuals or groups roaming in the streets with illegal firearms. Shri Biren said that there is no need for violence as there are constitutional provisions for every issue. He also condemned the attacks on civilians by the miscreants.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Chief Minister Biren Singh said that the State Government has been working towards building a unified Manipur and the Government is not against any community which have been residing together in the State. <br />''<br />''Shri Biren also appealed to community leaders to restore normalcy in Manipur and urged the people to support the Government on its initiative to check the influx of illegal foreigners in the State. The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones for some development projects and inaugurated newly constructed offices, and hostels, He also distributed benefits of various schemes during the function.</span><br />
