Sajibu Cheiraoba is celebrating with cultural gusto and religious fervor in Manipur to mark the beginning of a new year. Joint family feast are arranged in this day and food preparations are offered to local deities at the entrance gates of the houses in a decoratively set style. After having lunch, people have started climbing nearby hills in the afternoon to offer prayer. Thabal Chongba, a local folk dance is also being organized at different locations of the Manipur valley tonight.
