Patriots Day was celebrated all over Manipur today. The day is celebrated in honour of the great heroes of Manipur who sacrificed their lives to protect the freedom of their motherland in the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891. The main function was held in Imphal. Governor Mr. Gurvachan Jagat and Chief Minister, Mr. Okram Ibobi Singh attended the function. Patriots Day was also celebrated in Manipuri inhabited parts of Bangladesh, Assam, Tripura and Delhi.
