Manipur blockade: Pradhan directs oil firms to take measures to ease situation

Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today reviewed the stock position of petroleum product in Manipur and directed oil marketing companies to take all possible remedial measures to ease out the situation.An official release said, in view of the economic blockade imposed by United Naga Council on vehicles going to Manipur, since last month, supplies of petroleum products have been severely constrained. Currently, the Oil Marketing Companies are moving supplies under heavy security protection via alternate route NH-35 after shifting supply base to Guwahati, from normal base at Tinsukia. The Ministry said, Oil Marketing Companies and the Ministry are in constant touch with the State Government.
