In Imphal East district five candidates filed their nomination papers including minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Thokchom Satyabrata of BJP from Yaiskul assembly constituency. His rival candidate Huidrom Vikramjit of NPP also filed his nomination paper. In Imphal West district Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly and BJP candidate K. Robindro filed his nomination papers from Mayang Imphal assembly constituency. From Thangmeiband Assembly constituency, the sitting MLA Kh.
