So far, a list of more than 180 candidates have been announced by different political parties in Manipur and the number of women candidates are seen less in the upcoming election.<br />''<br />''AIR Correspondent reports that The election climate in Manipur is tense now with many candidates escalating the political campaigns to woo the voter. The election notification for the first phase polls in Manipur was announced yesterday. Five political parties- BJP, Congress, NPP, JD (U), and Shiv Sena announced their candidates so far. Out of the total candidate of 181 announced by these parties, only eight women candidates are in fray in the upcoming election. The list of BJP includes three women candidates including one sitting MLA, NPP and Congress fielded two women candidates each while JD (U) fielded the super cop turned politician Th Brinda from Yaiskul. Shiv Sena has not included any women candidates in its eight candidate list. In Spite of the movement of Women empowerment, it is seen in the political scenario in Manipur that the share of women in legislature is almost nil.&nbsp;</span><br />
