Manipur: 36 cadres of banned Underground Group- Chin Kuki Liberation Army & 1 cadre of PREPAK (Pro) surrenders to State Government

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">In Manipur, 36 cadres of the banned Underground Group- Chin Kuki Liberation Army (CKLA) and 1 cadre of PREPAK (Pro) surrendered to the State Government. A Homecoming Ceremony for these Underground cadres was held in the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles in Imphal and they laid down their arms before Chief Minister N. Biren Singh during the ceremony.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The arms and ammunition surrendered by the cadres were four AK series rifles and one point-22 rifle. one 303 rifle, one single barrel, one carbine, four pistols, two hand grenades and 54 assorted ammunitions.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">Speaking on the occasion, Shri Biren said that today's homecoming ceremony was one of the largest in terms of the number of cadres surrendered since the formation of the BJP 2.0 State Government. He said that the Northeast States had gone through significant changes in terms of development, law and order and economic matters after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">The surrendered Underground cadres will get rehabilitation benefits including a one-time financial grant of Rupees four lakhs each under the Central Government scheme. Moreover, each cadre will be given a monthly stipend of Rupees six thousand and incentives for surrendered weapons. They will stay in a rehabilitation camp for three years. </span></p>
