The mango production is likely to increase by 2.1 percent this year despite unseasonal rains in some parts of the country. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said the production is expected to be over 18914 thousand tonne in 2015-16 as compared to around 18527 thousand tonne last year. <br/><br/>He also said except Telangana, the production in other states is likely to be either normal or better than previous year. He said Telangana government will provide assistance to the unseasonal rains and hot weather affected mango producers as per state disaster response fund norms. The Minister also expressed confidence the prices of mango are not likely to soar in the domestic markets this year.
