Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has ordered immediate financial and other assistance for the three year old rape victim of Maharashtra's Ahmadnagar. Ms Gandhi immediately mobilized National Commission for Protection of Child Rights to arrange for medical care and sought report from the Maharashtra State Commission for women and the District Collector of Ahmadnagar. <br/><br/>A compensation of three lakh rupees has been provided for her medical treatment. Further, CHILDLINE has been put in motion to take care of the child and the concerned officer directed to trace her parents. <br/><br/>Taking cognizance of urgency in providing immediate medical and financial aid to the victims in such situations, Ms Gandhi has decided to set up a fund to ensure prompt help. This fund will draw financial resources from the Nirbhhaya Fund.
