Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has announced the setting up of a compensation fund under Nirbhaya scheme to provide financial help to children who are victims of sexual crimes. <br/><br/>A senior official of the ministry said that the money for this fund will be drawn from Nirbhaya Scheme and will be monitored directly by the Women and Child Development Ministry. <br/><br/>The official, however, said that a decision is yet to be taken on the total amount of money to be set aside for this scheme. The decision comes in response to a letter to the minister drawing her attention to the plight of a three-year-old from Ahmednagar who was raped in December last year.<br/>
