The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has urged people of Jangal Mahal to take part in the development process and shun violence.Addressing a function at Nayagram in Maoist dominated West Midnapur District today, Ms. Banerjee announced several developmental packages for the tribals residing in West Midnapur, Bankura and Purlia districts. Ms. Banerjee announced that 75 thousand families of Jangal Mahal who have attained the age of 60 years, will be brought under pension schemes from September this year.The Chief Minister assured that 10 thousand jobs will be given to the people of the region in National Volunteer Force, Home Guard and Police in next three months. This is the first visit of Mamata Banerjee to the Maoist-zone after becoming the Chief Minister.
