Mamta to meet Chief Interlocutor to initiate naxal talks

The West Bengal government will today hold a crucial meeting with a group of mediators to initiate discussions with Maoists to restore peace in Jungle Mahal. Chief Minister Ms. Mamta Banerjee will hold talks with the Chief interlocutor of the mediators appointed by her government, Mr.Sujato Bhadra, at the State Secretariat in Kolkata this afternoon. Top brass of the administration will also be present at the talks. Our correspondent reports that the meeting assumes significance following the Chief Minister's recent ultimatum to the Maoists to lay down arms within seven days to facilitate a congenial atmosphere for talks.
