In West Bengal, the crucial meeting with the group of mediators to initiate discussions with the Maoists to restore peace in Jungle Mahal has begun. Chief Minister Ms.Mamta Banerjee is holding talks with the Chief Interlocutor of mediators appointed by her government, Mr.Sujato Bhadro, at the state secretariat in Kolkata where the top brass of the administration are also present. Our correspondent reports that the meeting assumes significance following the Chief Minister's recent ultimatum to Maoists to lay down arms within seven days.
