The West Bengal Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee has made a fresh appeal to Maoists to return to the main stream of life. Talking to newsmen in Kolkata on Thursday Miss Banerjee mentioned a fresh package offered to the surrendering Maoists few days back.The Chief Minister said that development is a key issue in Junglemahal and the Government is trying to solve the Maoist problem in a peaceful manner. Miss Banerjee also announced a compensation package for civilians killed in Maoists attacks.AIR correspondent reports that under the compensation package, the State Government will provide two lakh rupees and the centre will give three lakh rupees to the families of the civilians who fall victims to such attacks.Besides, the State Government is also considering either providing a job or pension to the family members of the civilians killed in Maoist onslaught.
