In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress-led Government will complete one year of rule tomorrow. On this day in 2011 the Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee took oath as Chief Minister of the State, ousting the CPI(M) from power after 34 years of ruling. The State Government has arranged a series of programmes to celebrate the occasion.AIR Correspondent reports that the Chief Minister will present the ‘Bangabibhusan` and ‘Bangabhusan` awards to eminent personalities of different fields at a function in Kolkata tomorrow evening. They includes noted Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, noted Bengali Cine actress Suchitra Sen and others. Seven day long ‘Pragati Utsav` has also began in the City to highlight the achievements of the new government in last one year.Meanwhile, the opposition CPI(M) has termed the completion of one year’s rule of the Trinamul Congress-led Government as a year of violence and crime.
