Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee has decided to seek a CBI enquiry into the train accident that killed 22 passengers near Mathura on Wednesday. Talking to media persons in Mathura after visiting the accident site and the injured in various hospitals last night, Ms Banerjee said, realising the gravity of the accident, she has decided that it is better to go for a CBI probe.<br/><br/>Not ruling out the possibility of a criminal offence being responsible for the train accident, the Railway Minister said if any criminal action has been committed by anyone, there has to be stringent action against them.<br/><br/>Police had registered a case against unnamed persons after it emerged that the Mewar Express had come to a sudden halt because of alleged chain-pulling before it was hit from behind by the Goa Express.<br/><br/>Ms Banerjee said, the Railway Ministry will bear all the expenses for the treatment of the injured. She thanked the Army, local police and the villagers for extending help to the accident victims.<br/>
