Railway Minister Mamta Banerjee has congratulated Railway players in the Indian contingent for their outstanding performance in the 19th Commonwealth Games 2010. She said that Railway family and the nation is very proud of them.According to an official release, Railway sportspersons have won 23 Medals for the country which include 13 Gold medals, 3 Silver Medals and 7 Bronze medals. The release said that Ms Banerjee has also announced special Minister’s Awards for Railway players winning medals in the Commonwealth Games. The awards will be of 10 lakh rupees for Gold, 6 lakh rupees for Silver and 4 lakh rupees for Bronze Medal winner.
