President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Dr. Man Mohan Singh have condoled the death of Mrs Gayatri Devi, mother of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.In his message Dr. Manmohan Singh said he was deeply sorry to on the death of Mrs Gayatri Devi. He said he knew how close Mamata was to her mother and he could feel her pain and sense of loss.AIR Kolkata correspondent reports Union Ministers Dinesh Trivedi, Sudeep Bandopadhaya and Mukul Roy and several other dignitaries visited Mamata Banerjee's residence to pay their last respect to Mrs Gaiyetri Devi. The funeral will take place at Keortola crematorium this afternoon.Mrs. Gayatri Devi passed away at a hospital in Kolkata this morning after a protracted illness. She was 81. Ms Mamata Banerjee, who was on a Delhi trip, rushed to Kolkata on Friday night.
